A wedding day review by Ellie and Carter
Everyone needs to hire Phil!
For our wedding we did extensive research on what was out there in terms of videographer. I found Phil’s video packages gave us way more memories of our special day. It was really important to have our creative team be full of people who were fun and approachable. We very much found that with Phil. He was so good at working perfectly with our timeline and always creating a comfortable environment. We trusted him completely to film whatever it was he needed. He captured our day in ways we didn’t even know possible. It’s so clear how much passion, time and effort he puts into making your videos reflect who you are as a couple
They met through mutual friends back in 2014. It wasn’t until 2016 that they became an official couple. believe it or not they actually didn’t like each other very much in the start but their friendship grew into their relationship today. they are both quite passionate people and value friends and family. They also like to think they as quite fun, loud and energetic. highly value respect for all and feel it’s important to bring a warm presence wherever we go…
These kinds of weddings stand out in my mind not only are the couple are amazing. But because it also means so much to the families as well, that makes it extra special
It was a picture-perfect wedding Ellie & Carter two souls brought together on an incredibly special day. I could not have asked for a better way to spend a Saturday with such beautiful human beings. I real privilege to be there and film it.
When it comes to wedding venues in South East Queensland, you’ll be excited to know there’s a new kid on the block – Valley Estate Currumbin Valley. This venue has only just opened – in fact, the wedding I attended was only the sixth wedding to film there. And what did I think of it? Absolutely fabulous!
There aren’t many Gold Coast wedding venues like this, and this one is going straight into my top three venues on the Gold Coast. Let’s talk about why.
Valley Estate is right next to the Gold Coast and only a 10-minute drive from the airport – but you wouldn’t know it with the beach and hinterland right on the doorstep. So much care and thought has been put into make this venue magical and luxurious. When the owners designed it, they imagined a ‘landmark wedding and events destination’ and they achieved it. And it’s all exclusively yours for your wedding day – the manor, chapel, glasshouse and 9 acres of elegant grounds, manicured gardens, secluded spots and hidden trails. When I was there, I was particularly struck by the fantastic staff – Larissa, Michelle and Luke. They all went out of their way to make sure we were looked after (both as vendors and as guests). The team is a real family and they want you to love their place as much as they do.
There isn’t any onsite accommodation, but the bride and groom can get ready for the wedding in lovely pre-ceremony rooms:
So once you arrive in the morning, you don’t have to go anywhere. There is plenty of accommodation very close by in the Gold Coast/Currumbin area if you and your guests are staying on the coast.
Valley Estate provides several options for your ceremony, and all are as magical and elegant as you would hope. There is a stunning chapel and reception hall for indoor ceremonies. The romantic white chapel has oak finishes, lead glass windows and hinterland views. Alternatively, you can hold your ceremony anywhere on the grounds that captures your imagination, including under a magical 100-year-old fig tree and down on the jetty by the lake.
The Manor & Terrace is the only venue you need for a wedding reception. This red-bricked centrepiece of the property looks out over the opulent gardens. It’s very dramatic with its giant chandeliers, yet also has a chic industrial feel. Looking out over the Terrace make you feel like a rich estate owner.
As you’d expect, the cuisine is amazing – to be expected from an executive chef with more than 20 years of experience on the Gold Coast. And they’re very flexible. You can create your own menu, from fine dining to live cooking!
These bespoke buildings, manicured gardens and lavish surrounds provide the perfect backdrop for wedding photos. I discovered many beautiful spots for photos and video. The grounds are still young because it’s a brand new property. Once they mature a bit more, you’ll have even more photo opportunities. Unfortunately drone use is limited, as it’s right on the edge of the Gold Coast airport flight path. You can fly a drone, but only as high as the tree line.
Overall, I think the Valley Estate is very close to being the perfect wedding venue for any couple. It’s a huge call – but I’m making it! Set a reminder to come and meet the team. Contact me if you have any queries or would like to discuss your upcoming wedding.
