Mount Tamborine Wedding Venues
Mount Tambourine wedding venues Mount Tambourine is tucked away in the Gold Coast Hinterland. It is only a short drive from the Gold Coast and Brisbane, but it feels an entire world away with its gorgeous rainforest, cool climate and sweeping views over South East Queensland.
The wedding venues in this area are truly stunning, taking full advantage of the area’s natural beauty and serenity. I’ve been there many times to film weddings and I’m always gobsmacked by the view.
Whether you want a big wedding or just family and friends, or even an intimate elopement, Tamborine Mountain has a wedding venue that will suit you. Many of the venues are ‘one-stop-shops’ with ceremony, reception and accommodation locations all on site so you don’t have leave the property.

Mount Tamborine wedding Gardens
What I think of this Mt Tamborine wedding Venue
The venue prides itself on having ‘magical gardens’, and if you watch the virtual tour on their website, you can see why. Even the driveway has an Alice in Wonderland feel about it.
This venue provides locations for getting ready, ceremony, reception and even accommodation. It’s ideal for a stress-free wedding for you and your guests.
There are several gorgeous choices for the ceremony – the gardens, an atrium, a gazebo, a waterfall grotto or a lovely chapel with timber seating, an oak ceiling and stained glass
windows. There are also four private cottages hidden away in gardens, so you can discreetly leave the party and head up to your home away from home when you’re ready.
Curtis Falls – Wildhearted & Hitched
How to get to Curtis falls
Signposted turn off from Eagle Heights Road into Dapsang Drive, where there is a parking area and toilets. There is also a café for a refreshing drink on your return
What I think of this Mount Tamborine wedding venue
If you want a secret or no-fuss elopement-style wedding, Curtis Falls is a fantastic location. As you can imagine, it’s a bit of a hike to get down to the falls. But once you’re there, the surroundings speak for themselves.
Your wedding will be organised by a boutique group of elopement specialists based on the Gold Coast Hinterland called Wildhearted & Hitched. If a simple wedding is more your style, they offer a bespoke ceremony, a bouquet of bohemian blooms, and a portrait session. You can also get a package that includes a photography, video, hair and makeup.
They even give you access to their ‘design inspiration boards’ to help you plan your dream wedding.
An elopement at Curtis Falls brings out the inspiration in my own work and I always enjoy these occasions.
Cedar Creek Lodges
Cedar Creek Lodges is another one-stop-shop wedding venue. You’ll find everything you need on your big day in one location.
While photo opportunities here are more limited, there are plenty of options up the mountain.
The property is located alongside Cedar Creek and Tamborine National Park. It’s set in 114 hectares of subtropical rainforest and open woodland.
The venue takes full advantage of this stunning backdrop with an architecturally designed Rainforest Amphitheatre. There are also gardens with ponds and creeks where you can have your ceremony.
Just bring your bug spray because you might need it!
Albert River Winery
This is a popular location for Mount Tamborine weddings. This elegant heritage venue makes it easy to imagine our colonial past. It has a long, sweeping drive, huge veranda with a gorgeous view of hills covered with vines.
The sunsets here can be unique. The best time to hold your wedding here is when the jacarandas are in full bloom alongside the driveway.
Choose from a gazebo, garden or chapel for your ceremony. Then you can have your reception on a huge deck that fits 150 people.
The Secret Garden
What I think about this Tamborine Mountain wedding location
I only recently discovered this fantastic little venue. The owners, Kym and Nikki, were very friendly and their service was amazing.
Like the previous venue, the Secret Garden provides everything on its five acres of grounds, including a ‘Couple’s Retreat’, so you don’t have to leave the property (though you’ll also find many hotels in the area).
There is a pretty setting for every stage of the wedding day:
- You can hold the ceremony on the Romantic Steps, under the Maples or near the Agapanthus (all of which are perfect, so I don’t know how you would choose!).
- Guests will have pre-dinner drinks in The Stables (which is far nicer than it sounds).
- You can then walk across the lawns to the Main Deck for dinner, dance under the stars and enjoy dessert in The Gallery Lounge.
