Gabriella and Ryland came to me with a very specific—and very fun—request for their wedding day. Ryland, an avid Manchester City fan through and through, wanted to weave his love of football into the celebrations in a way that felt personal and playful. The plan was for him and his groomsmen to don their football shirts before getting ready, and for me to create a dramatic, match-day-style intro to set the tone.

That was the brief. Simple enough… until the boys, who were dreaming of an epic football teaser trailer, turned up without an actual football. A minor detail, yes—but in football terms, that’s like forgetting the net. Still, I wasn’t about to let that kill the vibe. We improvised, played with angles, energy, and atmosphere, and leaned into the spirit of the game rather than the props. The result? A wedding trailer with all the hype, camaraderie, and excitement of a big match—just with a lot more love and slightly better outfits.
