How to capture audio at your wedding
Capturing audio for is the most important part of my day!
Without audio it just would be a bunch of images and you may as well have just hired a photographer!
I need as much audio as possible, I may only use a snippet in your film sometimes I will use it all, but the more info and choice I have the better…
Here are just some of the ways I can obtain audio for your film. Some of these films have a combination of these techniques…
This is a mix of an engagement shoot/interview ( but you will answering question together) it can be a film in is own right or I will include it in your wedding day film.
WRITING YOUR OWN VOWS
This is probably the most common way I get audio for your film…
For the interview you both need to do some homework. For this you both get a list of 10 questions you agree on which questions you want to answer, it can only 2 or 3, its doesn’t matter, but I want the stories that show your love and what make you both tick. Neither of you will share your answers with the other, that way we get different version of the same story.
If you are going to use this, you need to allow 10-15 minutes in your prep- timeline.
WRITING A LETTER TO EACH OTHER TO BE READ DURING PREP
Very simple you both write a letter to each and read each others out, normally I would do this alone with you in a room so it private.
READINGS OR SPECIAL POEMS
Sometimes couple have a favourite reading or poem that is read on the day. in some cases like Schae and Patrick’s film I will get a voice over artist to read the poem in certain way giving it more impact.
last but not least are speeches. in order for to use the speeches in a film, (they have to be good!!) with all of the other choices above I have control over all of them. Speeches are an unknown as we don’t know what we are getting!!
so there it is…. Any one of these will be amazing, it just depends on what fits your personalities and tastes.
